Supportive Home Care Services

Supportive Home Care services are provided by direct care staff in IDS’ Independent Living Program to help promote independent living to its fullest.   Supportive home care services are eligible to individuals with disabilities (participants) who require assistance in performing tasks they are unable to do in order to meet daily living needs which ensures adequate functioning in their own homes.  We believe in doing whatever it takes to help our participants maintain their independence and stay in their own homes through our array of supportive home care services. From grocery shopping, home organization, to meal preparation, we provide the most diverse package of supportive home care services for individuals with disabilities.

Supportive Home Care services include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:

  • Conversation & Companionship
  • Meal Preparation
  • Health Monitoring Services
  • Running Errands (personal shopping/banking/hair salons, etc.)
  • Grocery Shopping
  • Light Housekeeping
    • Vacuuming
    • Dusting
    • Sweeping and mopping floors
    • Cleaning bathrooms (sinks, tubs, showers, and toilets)
    • Cleaning kitchens (sinks, appliances, counters, etc.)
    • Doing dishes
  • Laundry
  • Help with Home Organization
    • Straightening of living spaces
    • Organizing closets and drawers
  • Home Safety
  • Exercising
  • Social Outings
